Lab Reports

Ogilvy Labs represent at various conferences and events all over the world each year to ensure our agency is not only keeping up with the latest technology and innovation trends, but also able to think ahead. For each event, we compile a Lab Report to summarise our findings for our agency, our clients and anyone else who wants to be kept in the loop!

Digital Shoreditch & Ogilvy Lab Day 2015

Digital Shoreditch is a week-long festival, bringing together the Creative, Tech and Entrepreneur community to celebrate outstanding work, share ideas and look forward to the future. This year, Ogilvy Labs not only covered the festival to bring the hottest topics to the Ogilvy Group, but we also hosted our bi-annual Lab Day on the main stage on day 4 of the festival.

In this report, we’ve pulled together both the broader trends from the week as a whole, along with our key takeaways from our ‘start-up’ themed Lab Day. Enjoy!

Collider Speed Dating May 2015

This week, as part of our partnership with Collider, we ran a speed date with 7 startups, 11 staff and 6 brands. Why did we do this? We want to stay ahead of the curve, keeping an eye for the latest tech that can help our clients, and we want to show how we play an important role in this process.

The startups we met were between 1-2 years old, and are at the cutting edge of Madtech (Marketing and Advertising Tech), with technology that can help both ourselves and our clients find, understand, engage or sell to the audience. Take a look here, and get in touch with Ogilvy Labs if you’d like to dig deeper into any of the startups.

  1. The future of problem solving is in AI
  2. Agencies need to be makers
  3. Different media formats
  4. Human-machine interaction

We also proposed a post-SXSW action plan for agencies looking to innovate: fail constructively, challenge authority and learn the fundamentals.
